5 Farmers’ Markets You Must Visit in Mississauga

Around the city, markets are already in full bloom already. And, if you’ve never tried one out, even a walk around the market is always a fun thing to do and know what the latest artisanal trend is or what’s in season.
5) The Backyard Farm and Market at Erin Mills
Established as a non-profit organization in 2016, it has always been very community focused. You’ll find a good mix of vendors including Mena Family Farm, which always has an assortment of fresh, local and non-certified organic vegetables. You can also pick up vegetables, gardening kits and seeds by the Little Garden Company, natural fruit and veggie products by Wholly Greens, baked goods by Going Gluten Free and Lovin Oven Bakery and vegan chocolates from Living Chocolate.
When: It’s in season every Saturday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. till September 29.
Where: It’s located at 2475 Eglinton Ave. W. (right by the mall and Credit Valley hospital)
Organized by the Lion Club, this has fruits, vegetables, meats, bread, honey, maple syrup, jams and more to offer. Take your pick at any of the organic products. You needn’t have to worry about a parking spot here. There are 400 alongside the market and an additional 300 at 4 Robert Speck Parkway.
When: It’s in season every Sunday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. till October 28.

3) Many Feather’s Farmers Market
First launched in 2015, this novice is a growing market. And, is lively with music, food trucks, local artists and workshops. There’s enough to make a day of it. You’ll find The Arepa Republic food truck, produce from Sunray Orchards, smoked meats from Vince’s Euro Deli, baked goods from Cob’s Bread, handmade and natural body products from The Northern Goddess and wines from Creekside Estate Winery among others.
When: It’s in season every Sunday 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. till October 7.
Where: It’s located at Lisgar Go Station.
2) Port Credit Farmer’s Market
The farmers’ market is just another excuse to make a stop in the charming neighbourhood of Port Credit. While fresh produce, bread, cheese, eggs, plants and more products are available to pick up, you can also sit under the warm sun for some breakfast or perk up with some coffee.
There’s also good live music to keep the crowds entertained.
When: It’s in season every Saturday 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. till October 6.
Where: It’s located at the corner of Lakeshore Road East and Elmwood Ave in the parking lot (on the north side).
1) Streetsville Lions Farmers Market
Find organic produce, cream donuts, pies, croissants, bread, jams, meats and more in this market. Located in Streetsville, the neighbourhood’s historic architecture is another reason to visit the market. You can also shop for socks with super cute prints!
When: It’s in season every Saturday 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. till October 6.
Where: It’s located at 128 Queen Street South (Centre Plaza)
