When cherished dining spots say their goodbyes, it’s more than just a closure—it’s a farewell to culinary memories. Here are five popular restaurants that shut down in Mississauga in 2023.

Bliss restaurant

Streetsville said goodbye to Bliss Chinese Cuisine restaurant after an eight-year run.

Located at 6485 Mississauga Road —this modern fine-dining establishment with an east-meets-west concept, specialized in Chinese seafood, dim sum and BBQ.

There were various food options and price points, including their lunch special which was $13.95.

The lunch special order included a choice of a vegetable spring roll, wonton soup or hot and sour soup, chicken fried rice and nine entrée options such as the BBQ pork and duck combo, General Tao chicken and more.

The Bliss menu also catered to vegetarians who could choose from over 20 different options.

The ambiance featured an open concept design with high ceilings and natural sunlight that brightened the space during the dim sum lunch rush. A  fireplace installation was near the front windows

On the busiest days the space could serve up to 350 guests and included a section for VIP.

It even made you feel like you were in seafood heaven, as the restaurant had a fresh water tank with fish, lobster and crab.

A BBQ display case was also available, so customers could see all the cuts of meat that were barbequed in house.

Their signature menu items included King Lobster, Vancouver Crab, Alaska King Crab, Live Green Bass, Suckling Pig and Peking Duck.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings, an American sports bar franchise closed down all of its remaining locations in Ontario, marking the end of its run in the Canadian market.

The restaurant was known for offering Buffalo-style chicken wings in a variety of sauces like Parmesan Garlic, Honey BBQ, Nashville Hot, and Mango Habanero.

During the months of April and May the chicken wing chain began to shut down various locations in Oakville, London, Hamilton-Stoney Creek, Ajax and Vaughan.

The winding down of the restaurants came to many as a surprise, as it was done discretely with very little to no notice from the company.

In June the wing chain closed two more storefronts, one in Oshawa and another in Barrie—leaving only three locations open: Hamilton-Ancaster, Mississauga and Windsor.

A month later on July 1, it was the end of the road for the final three.

The company did not state exactly why they made the decision to pull out of the Canadian market.
If you’re a long-time fan who hasn’t missed their weekly wing specials— you will have to cross the border to satisfy your cravings.
The franchise currently has 1,200 locations across the U.S.

Burger Legend

Even legends don’t live forever, as a popular burger joint in Mississauga has officially said its last “orders up,” on Friday, March 31, 2023.

In April 2014— during the smash burger craze, Burger Legend set up shop, emphasizing the use of fresh halal ingredients daily to craft its menu items.

The restaurant was located at 236 Queen St. S., in Streetsville, offered many burger variations including their most popular “The Great One” which was topped with maple smoked bacon, Canadian cheddar cheese, mixed greens, tomatoes and a special sauce called “Bawss Sauce” which the recipe for remains a secret to this day.

The order also came with homestyle fries which were double fried in peanut oil and topped with sea salt.

If you are still in the mood to try Burger Legend the nearest location is on Advance Road and Islington in Etobicoke.
