5 Best provincial parks open near Brampton

Now that some outdoor facilities are beginning to reopen, you might be itching to get out and get some fresh air and sunlight, after weeks of quarantine.

If you’re trying to find the perfect place to get out and enjoy the outdoors, without increasing your risk of person-to-person contact, and potentially spreading COVID-19, you’re in luck.

These are the 5 best provincial parks open near Brampton.


5: Pinery

Located on the banks of Lake Huron near Grand Bend, Pinery Provincial Park is about a 165-minute drive from Brampton.

The park is only open for daytime use, and visitors can take advantage of the hiking and biking trails, as well as fishing–however, all three activities come with restrictions.

4: Sandbanks

Sandbanks Provincial Park is located in Prince Edward County, along the banks of Lake Ontario–roughly a 150-minute drive from Brampton.

While the cabins and some of the park activities are closed, visitors can still enjoy the outdoors.

Visitors are currently permitted to enjoy the park’s hiking and biking trails, as well as fishing. However, all three activities come with certain restrictions.

3: Rock Point

Located in Dunnville Ontario, Rock Point Provincial Park is roughly a 105-minute drive from Brampton.

It is currently only open for daytime use, and visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, hunting, and fishing, albeit all activities come with restrictions.

2: Presqu’ile

Presqu’ile Provincial Park is located in Brighton Ontario, roughly a 100-minute drive from Brampton.

Currently, Presqu’ile is only open for daytime use, and Visitors are not permitted to stay overnight at the campsite.

However, visitors can still take advantage of the hiking and biking trails. They can also fish and hunt. However, all activities that are permissible come with restrictions.

1: Forks of the Credit

Located in Caledon, Forks of the Credit Provincial Park is a great option for families who don’t want to spend a ton of time driving, as it’s under only about an hour away from Brampton.

Currently, the camp is open for daytime use, and visitors can enjoy the biking and hiking trails, as well as fishing and horseback riding. However, all activities have restrictions.
