4-vehicle crash flips van onto its side in Mississauga; one person rescued by firefighters

This van that flipped onto its side was one of four vehicles involved in a crash Thursday afternoon near Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga.

At least one person had to be rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped inside a car that was involved in a four-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon near a busy shopping centre in Mississauga’s north end.

Reports from the scene indicate the multi-vehicle collision happened around 2:30 p.m. on Rodeo Drive, at Britannia Road West, near Heartland Town Centre.

A van involved in the crash flipped onto its side while another vehicle involved, a sedan, could be seen with major front-end damage.

One person was reportedly extricated from a vehicle by Mississauga firefighters. It’s not clear which of the vehicles they were rescued from.

Peel Regional Police told INsauga.com the collision took place at about 2:15 p.m. and that the drivers of all four vehicles were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Lanes on Britannia Road West have been shut down to traffic as have lanes in both directions on Rodeo Drive, reports indicate.
