This holiday season, whether you’re in the mood for traditionally cooked meats, a fusion of South Indian flavours, fresh sushi platters or decadent French pastries, there are some exciting new places worth trying!
Here are four restaurants that opened at the end of 2024 in Mississauga:
Tahini’s
Tahini’s has recently opened its third location in Mississauga at 3-2963 Argentia Rd. in Meadowvale West. The popular restaurant chain, known for its healthy Middle Eastern cuisine, offers fast-casual dining with a blend of traditional flavours and modern twists.
The menu features Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including shawarma bowls, wraps and falafel.
With over 50 locations across North America, Tahini’s continues to expand, with plans to double its footprint to 100 locations by 2025.
Sushiya Bloom
Sushiya Bloom located at 4555 Hurontario St., brings bold flavours and a diverse menu.
Food options include appetizers like agedashi tofu (deep-fried tofu with teriyaki sauce), jap-chae (stir-fried glass noodles), and takoyaki (octopus-filled balls).
Signature options include the torched Bloom Dragon Roll and party trays with assorted sushi and sashimi.
For those who prefer Korean classics, bulgogi (marinated grilled beef) and spicy kimchi fried rice are must-tries.
Patrons can pair their meals with a selection of wines, sake or Japanese beer.
For dessert, offerings include mochi ice cream, green tea cheesecake or tempura bananas with caramel sauce.
Paris Baguette
Paris Baguette, located at 5935 Mavis Rd. in Heartland Plaza, finally opened its doors after the shop’s signage had been up for more than six months.
Founded in 1988 in South Korea, the bakery cafe is headquartered in Seoul and operates over 4,000 locations worldwide, including several in Canada, the United States and Europe.
The shop is known for its impressive menu selection, which ranges from sweet to savoury. For pastry lovers, tempting options include crepe cakes, mochi donuts and almond croissants. Full cakes are also available for celebrations, with classic favourites like red velvet and chocolate joined by unique creations such as blueberry chiffon and cappuccino.
On the savoury side, the menu features quiches, pizzettas and a variety of sandwiches, from ham and cheese on a baguette to egg sandwiches and chicken wraps.
The beverage menu is equally diverse, offering lattes in various styles—including oat milk, matcha, and chai—alongside classics like Americanos, espressos and cappuccinos. For non-coffee drinkers, there’s a range of teas and rich hot chocolate.
With the Mississauga location now open, Paris Baguette has four locations in Ontario, including Toronto, North York and Newmarket. Nationally, there are seven cafés, with additional locations in Edmonton and Calgary.
