A new luxury restaurant and lounge, inspired by nature and South Asian and Middle Eastern culture, is opening this month in Mississauga.
Mishree Cocktails & Cuisine plans to open in December at 825 Britannia Rd. W., according to a press release from the owners.
The spot has been in the works for several months and a post in the fall showed a behind-the-scenes glimpses at the construction of the new lounge and restaurant.
Mishree will feature specialty cocktails and “elevated” cuisine.
“At the core of Mishree, is the unique blend of bold Indian flavours that will bring a sense of adventure to the palette, where each cocktail is a masterpiece of mixology, and every sip is a journey celebrating the beauty of nature,” the press release reads.
The $4 million buildout features custom hand-made brass doors, hand-carved marble tables inlaid with semi-precious stones, custom light fixtures, detailed jungle print wallpaper, soft fuchsia velvet seating and exquisite woodwork throughout the dining room, according to the press release.
The design is meant to conjure an “oasis that engages the senses and promises a transformative experience.”
The 6,500-square-foot space includes a bar, an all-season covered season patio and a large indoor dining room that together can seat over 250 people in one night.
In the evening, the space will transition into a vibrant, late-night lounge with a built-in ultra-premium L-Acoustics sound system set up for DJs and live music on every weekend.
Restauranteur Shraey Gulati, who is behind Mississauga’s Tandoori Flame Restaurants and Happy Singh Street Eats, is the founder of Mishree.
“We are challenging creativity and the fusion between cuisine and cocktails,” said Gulati. “Our vision is to bring to life a multi-sensory experience that’s unlike any other restaurant in Mississauga.”
Mishree is planning a soft opening in the coming weeks and a grand opening on Jan. 24, 2024.
