4 kayaks, chainsaw and portable shower among items stolen in small Ontario cottage town

Kayaks stolen in Ontario cottage country.

Police are trying to track down the thieves who stole four kayaks, a trailer, portable shower and a chainsaw sometime late last week in Ontario cottage country.

Ontario Provincial Police said the culprits broke into a shed and storage container at a property in Grey Highlands, about 50 kilometres southeast of Owen Sound, at some point between last Thursday at noon and Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Police said the stolen property, which totals about $8,000, includes:

  • 16-foot Wilderness systems kayak
  • 12-foot Delta twin haul sit-on-top kayak
  • 12-foot Swift Kevlar kayak
  • 10-foot lifetime plastic kayak
  • Stihl gas-powered chainsaw
  • Cabella’s on-demand shower system
  • 4-x-6-ft. modified trailer with extended tongue and welded-on T-holder with licence plate R4391F

Grey Bruce OPP said the break-and-enter took place at a property located on Road 140 in the small community south of Meaford.
