Il Fornello, a popular Toronto and GTA chain, opened its newest location at 2225 Erin Mills Pkwy in Mississauga this week.

Established over 30 years ago, the restaurant introduced wood-fired pizza to Toronto and now offers a robust plant-based menu.

The Mississauga venue includes Cafe Alba, which serves coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads, gelato, and pizza. Operations began just before the official opening on June 24.

The menu options include antipasti, salads, pizza, pasta, salmon, and a variety of wines and cocktails, including specialties like the iced tiramisu cocktail.

Boardwalk Burgers

Located at 497 Dundas Street West near Neyagawa Boulevard in Oakville, Boardwalk Burgers offers a menu focused on traditional burgers, fries, and shakes.

The restaurant was founded by Dave and Fran DiFerdinando in 1980. It was inspired by the flavours of Maryland’s ocean-side boardwalk. Starting as a take-out spot, the founders aimed to recreate the beachside ambiance and flavours they cherished.

Today, their concept has expanded across the U.S. and Canada, with existing locations in Milton, Mississauga, and Hamilton, with more on the way.

Boardwalk Burgers offers a variety of menu options, including “fresh, never frozen hand-made burgers,” creamy Canadian dairy shakes, sweet potato fries, poutine, veggie burgers, and chicken choices, all served alongside classic sides of fries or onion rings.

Adding a unique twist, their poutine comes in various flavours, such as beef bacon with cheddar ranch, jalapeno cheddar, parmesan garlic, and beef bacon with chipotle.

Shake enthusiasts can enjoy flavours like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana, cookies and cream, and peanut butter.
