Imagine being a frequent customer at your favourite place to eat and then one day finding out that it will no longer be serving you. News that disappointing could turn you off from buying take-out ever again. Ok, maybe not forever.

Here are three restaurants that shut down their businesses in September which left some customers with a broken heart.


 

Heritage Fish & Chips

Heritage Fish & Chips, located at 840 Main St. E., in Milton closed its doors after 15 years of serving the community. Known for its British-style fish and chips, the restaurant had been a local favourite offering haddock, cod and halibut alongside sides like coleslaw and mushy peas.

In a social media post, the owners expressed gratitude to their customers, announcing that the final day of operations was Sunday, Sept. 22. Patrons shared their sadness online, with many visiting the restaurant one last time before its closure.

While the Milton location is closed, other Heritage Fish & Chips locations in Brampton and Mississauga remain open.


Supermoon Japanese Style Cheesecakes

Supermoon Japanese Style Cheesecakes has closed its South Common Centre location at 2150 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W. in Mississauga.

“After four wonderful years, we regret to inform you that our South Common store is closing its doors,” the owners shared, expressing gratitude for customer support.

Several patrons commented on the closure, with one noting the friendliness of the staff and another expressing disappointment.

Known for its light and fluffy Japanese cheesecakes, Supermoon offers various flavours that rotate throughout the year, such as wild blueberry and mango creamsicle.

The Streetsville location at 128 Queen St. S., unit 19, remains open.


Piazza Bistro

Piazza Bistro, located at 94 George St. in downtown Oakville, permanently closed its doors on Sept. 28.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support and patronage,” the post read, adding that the last day of service will be Saturday. “It has been a pleasure serving you, and we hope to see you one last time before we close our doors.”

Known for its chic, intimate setting with a fireplace and outdoor seating, Piazza Bistro offered a menu featuring antipasto plates, pizzas and pasta dishes like chicken marsala and risotto. The restaurant also offered a selection of wines and cappuccinos.

Patrons expressed their sadness over the closure on social media, with one commenting, “So sorry to see you go,” and another calling the bistro a “true gem.”
