Update: 3 people dead in a single-vehicle crash in Brampton, Ontario

Three young men have died in a horrific single-vehicle crash in Brampton.
Emergency crews rushed to Bovaird Drive near Chinguacousy Road in Brampton for the crash around 1:30 a.m. this morning (Feb. 8), Peel Regional Police said on X.
Paramedics worked to revive the victims but despite efforts, three people were pronounced dead on the scene.
Police tell insauga.com all three victims are adults but could not provide more information pending notification of next of kin.
The vehicle struck a pole, police said in an update this afternoon. There was no information on the cause of the crash but it appears speed was a factor.
Photos from the scene show a badly damaged vehicle that was torn open.
Bovaird Drive between Fletchers Creek Boulevard and Chinguacousy Road will be closed for the collision investigation.
The Major Collision Bureau and Arial Support Unit were on scene.
Update: As of 12:30 p.m. the road was still closed with an unknown reopening time. Police asked people to use alternate routes.
Second update: In an update this afternoon, Const. Tyler Bell-Morena said there may have been a second vehicle involved in the crash. Police have a suspect in custody awaiting possible charges related to the crash.
