The rescue of three kidnapping victims has led to arrests and charges laid against 10 people following a raid in Brampton, police say.
Peel Regional Police say the takedown happened last Tuesday when officers searched a home in the area of Kennedy Road and Conservation Drive in Brampton.
The search was related to a kidnapping investigation, police say.
Members of the police tactical team assisted investigators in the raid and police say three victims were located inside the residence “who were rescued and brought to safety.”
Police didn’t say when the victims were kidnapped or why they were targeted.
After more searches and warrants, police say they recovered a loaded Ruger Security 9 handgun, a Glock 17 Gen 5 handgun and ammunition.
Peel police say 10 people have been arrested and charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm and various firearms-related offences.
The accused were all held for a bail hearing, police said.
Police didn’t release the names of those charged.
