2 people shot dead at a house in Oshawa

A man is in police custody after two people were shot and killed at a house in Oshawa this afternoon.
Durham Regional Police responded to reports of a shooting shortly before 2 p.m. in the area of Fernhill Boulevard and Rossland Road West.
Police found two people with gunshot wounds who both died shortly after due to their injuries. Subsequently, a man was located and taken into police custody.
Officials have not released information on the victims, including their ages, names, and whether they were residents of Oshawa and lived at the home or their relationship to the suspect.
The cause of the shooting is unknown at this time.
Fortunately, police say there is no risk to public safety.
“The investigation is ongoing, and further information will be provided as it becomes available,” Durham police say.
A user on X (formerly Twitter), called colinWxchaser, posted images of the incident’s aftermath. The photos show police cruisers and paramedics at the scene, with police tape cordoning off the area of the shooting.
