2 people dead in a crash on Airport Road in Caledon

A crash in Caledon claimed the lives of two people yesterday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to a crash involving four vehicles on Airport Road near Charleston Sideroad just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 30) afternoon in Caledon, OPP said in a tweet.
Two drivers, the sole occupants in two vehicles, died in the crash, OPP said. Police haven’t released further information on the victims.
The occupants of the other vehicles were not injured.
There is no information yet on what caused the crash.
Airport Road from Highway 9 to Escarpment Sideroad was closed for the investigation. The roadways reopened around 11:20 p.m. last night.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police ask anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who has dashcam video related to the crash to contact the Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
