15-year-old in Mississauga charged after fellow teen shot by BB gun

A 15-year-old faces a half-dozen charges in relation to a shooting last week in Missisauga, where another teenager was hit by projectiles from a BB gun.

The Peel Regional Police say officers responded to a call for a victim in the Webb Dr.-Duke of York Blvd. area around 9 p.m. on Jan. 4 (one week ago Wednesday). They found a victim who was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries that required treatment at a local hospital.

Yesterday (Jan. 11), another Mississauga, was arrested. They cannot be named under a provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, whose provisions also entail protecting the identify of the young person who was attacked.

The youth who was arrested faces the following charges:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Discharging an air gun or a pistol with intent to Wwund
  • Possesion of an imitation firearm — used while committing offence
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
