11 stolen vehicles seized by police in Ontario town.

An Ontario man faces numerous charges after police in the southwest part of the province seized 11 stolen vehicles, three motorcycles, a loaded gun and other items collectively worth more than $300,000.

Ontario Provincial Police said officers were investigating a report of a stolen vehicle on Monday when they tracked the car to an address in the community of Lakeshore, just east of Windsor and the U.S. border.

Police found the suspect vehicle and 10 other stolen cars, in addition to other items, at the home.

A search led to the recovery by police of the stolen vehicles, three motorcycles, a loaded handgun, two enclosed trailers, four utility trailers and an undisclosed amount of Canadian cash.

Total value of the items seized is more than $300,000, police said.

Anthony Myles Gardiner, 23, of Windsor, is charged with:

  • possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 (four counts)
  • possession property obtained by crime over $5,000 (nine counts)
  • careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition (two counts)
  • unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (two counts)
  • fail to comply with probation order (four counts)

The accused was held pending a bail hearing in Windsor court.
