Patrick Gordon hasn’t revealed what he takes in his morning coffee, but he’ll gladly take a $100,000 lottery win to go with it.
The transportation sector worker and longtime lottery player from Mississauga recently checked his Lotto 6/49 ticket from the June 17 draw as he made his morning coffee at home.
Checking it on the OLG App, Gordon quickly discovered that his ticket matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order, making him a $100,000 winner.
“I thought I had won $100,” the Mississauga man shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cash. “Then I counted the zeroes again and realized it was $100,000. I was in a daze and couldn’t believe it. I kept thinking to myself, ‘No, I did not just win $100,000.’”
Gordon then shared the news with his wife, who was still in bed at the time.
“She thought it was a dream because she thought I had already left for work,” he said, adding the experience was surreal. “It was like an out-of-body experience. I still can’t believe I’ve won.”
Gordon, who likes playing Lotto Max and Lottario regularly as well and typically plays the same series of numbers, added he doesn’t yet know what he’ll do with the money, only that “I want to make sure I use it wisely. There are so many possibilities.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Kitchen Food Fair, on Financial Dr. in Mississauga.
