With snow warnings rolling in across Ontario this week, it’s time to start thinking about tobogganing fun!

While we wait to see just how much snow will fall, it might be a good idea to jot down these must-visit spots for when the winter wonderland arrives:


Albion Hills Conservation Area

Escape the city and head to Albion Hills Conservation Area, located less than 30 minutes from Mississauga at 16500 Regional Rd. 50 in Caledon. This winter activity destination features an excellent tobogganing hill for exhilarating rides. After some fun on the slopes, visitors can take a refreshing hike through the trails or warm up in the heated lodge.


Hy-Hope Farm and Golf Course 

Escape to Hy-Hope Farm and Golf Course, a family-owned property located at 5450 Lake Ridge Rd., Ashburn (Pickering). With a range of hills perfect for tobogganing, from steep and fast to steady and gentle, there’s a hill for everyone in your group to enjoy.


Chedoke Golf Club

The Chedoke Golf Club is one of Hamilton’s best tobogganing destinations. Located at 563 Aberdeen Ave, the club offers both a long, steep hill for speedy rides and a wider, shorter hill for more relaxed fun. The hills are popular, so visitors are advised to arrive early and secure their spot for some much-needed winter thrill.


Grandview Village South Park

Located at 1133-1173 Bloor St. E. in Oshawa Grandview Village South Park is a popular tobogganing destination for all ages. The park features a narrower hill lined with trees, offering sledders a fun and challenging experience. In January 2023, the City of Oshawa designated Grandview Village as a sanctioned tobogganing area, ensuring regular inspections and maintenance for safe community use.


Knights of Columbus Park

Located at 137 Farewell St., in Oshawa the Knights of Columbus Park features a long, steep hill perfect for tobogganing. If tobogganing isn’t your thing, you can enjoy a scenic walk on the nearby Harmony Creek Trail. The large hill size helps avoid overcrowding, ensuring a more enjoyable winter experience for everyone.


Major Oaks Park

Located near Williams Parkway and Highway 410 in Brampton, this popular tobogganing spot is about 20 minutes from Mississauga. With a variety of hills, ranging from larger ones for faster rides to smaller, friendlier slopes, it’s an ideal location for families, including young children. The park is also in close proximity to Bramalea City Centre, where visitors can enjoy both outdoor fun and shopping or dining in one trip.


LaSalle Park

Located at 50 North Shore Blvd. E. in Burlington, LaSalle Park is a year-round go-to destination for various activities. During the winter months, the hill east of the parking lot is the prime spot for tobogganing.


Central Park

Situated at 2399 New St. in Burlington, Central Park features a hill northwest of the Community Garden, making it a safe and enjoyable location for tobogganing. Residents often flock to this area for winter fun.


Erindale Park

Located at 1695 Dundas St.W. in Mississauga, Erindale Park features a large hill perfect for tobogganing. The park offers ample space for sledders of all ages, making it a great destination for family fun during the winter months.


Jack Darling Memorial Park
