Christmas is nearly here and throughout the holidays, many Ontarians will be enjoying their favourite alcoholic drinks.

With that in mind, INsauga.com has compiled a list of the 10 most expensive 24-packs at The Beer Store for those willing to spend a few extra bucks on some beverages.

10. Beyond The Pale Aromatherapy – $83.89

You can get 24 cans (473 ml) of this Canadian IPA for $83.89.

“Brewed in the spirit of freshly canned Vermont beers, this IPA is intensely dry hopped with Citra, Amarillo and Mosaic to produce a rich stone fruit and grassy bouquet,” The Beer Store description says.

“The pale malt body puts the sumptuous hop profile into focus, resulting it a bright and refreshing east coast IPA.”

The alcohol content is 6.5 per cent.

9. Chimay Gold – $84.56

For $84.56, you can get 24 bottles (330 ml) of Chimay Gold.

“Named for its delicate golden colour, this refreshingly crisp ale brings a delicious balance of citrus and spice,” the description reads.

“A fluffy white head releases the aromas of summer fruits followed by a sparkling mouthfeel and ending with a hint of bitterness.”

The Belgian beer has a 4.8 per cent alcohol content.

At the time of writing, however, it was not in stock at any Beer Store locations.

8. Colt 45 – $86.02

Coming in at number eight, for $86.02, you can get 24 large cans (710 ml) of Colt 45.

The strong beer has an eight per cent alcohol content.

“Colt 45, brewed for over 20 years, is one of the top three malt liquors in the USA,” The Beer Store site says.

“It is well balanced and has a light malt hop flavour.”

7. Hollandia Super Strong Lager – $86.33

Taking the seventh spot on our list is Hollandia Super Strong Lager from the Netherlands.

For $86.33, you can get 24 cans (500 ml) of the beer, which has an 11.9 per cent alcohol content.

It’s described as an “extra strong dark blonde beer with a firm head and sweet aromas of ripe fruit and grains with an underlying alcohol note.”

6. Averbode Abbey Ale – $87.65

Twenty-four 330 ml bottles of Averbode Abbey Ale goes for $87.65.

The blonde and dry-hopped beer comes from Belgium.

It has a 7.5 per cent alcohol content.

However, at the time of writing, it was not in stock at any Beer Store locations.

5. Town Brewery – Square Wheels Hazy IPA – $88.14

In at number five, 24 tall cans (473 ml) of Town Brewery – Square Wheels Hazy IPA go for $88.14.

The Canadian beer is described as “hazy, smooth and bursting with hop aroma” featuring flavours of pineapple with undertones of grapefruit.

It has a 6.2 per cent alcohol content.

4. Mongozo Premium Pilsner – $89.69

Twenty-four 330 ml bottles of Mongozo Premium Pilsner goes for $89.69.

The Beer Store site says it’s “the first lager in the world that is brewed using only high-grade organic barley malt, organic hops and Fairtrade certified organic rice.”

“The mild, slightly bitter flavour of hops makes it easy to drink,” the description reads.

The beer, from Belgium, has a 4.5 per cent alcohol content.

3. Flying Monkeys Sparklepuff Triple IPA – $90.80

For $90.80, you can get 24 tall cans (473 ml) of Flying Monkeys Sparklepuff Triple IPA.

“Sparklepuff launches with a payload of fresh summer peaches for cushions of fierce malty fluff behind a forcefield of shimmering hops,” The Beer Store site says of the Canadian beer.

It has quite a high alcohol content.

“Beware: the 10.2% alc./vol. is eerily quiet in this Triple IPA,” the description says.

2. Fruli Strawberry Beer – $98.72

At number two on our list is Fruli Strawberry Beer.

You can get 24 bottles (330 ml) of the Belgian beer for $98.72.

“Fruli is a unique blend of high quality, lightly-hopped Belgian White Beer and pure strawberries,” the description reads.

“This all-natural, traditional and authentic treat delivers a soft and refreshing indulgence that is simply delicious.”

It has a 4.1 per cent alcohol content.

1. Delirium Tremens – $105.80

And coming in at number one, like many of the other products on our list, is a beer from Belgium.

Twenty-four 330 ml bottles of Delirium Tremens goes for $105.80.

“The colour is golden and the head creamy and light,” The Beer Store description says.

“Delirium is lightly hopped and surprisingly malty for such an airy, sunshine beer.”

Its alcohol content is 8.5 per cent.
