A program that doles out grants to small scale, community-led projects in Milton is now accepting applications.

The Milton Community Connections Grant, previously know at the Milton Small Grant Program, is designed to provide support to residents, resident groups, and non-profit organizations that are working to improve the quality of life in Milton through projects, events and programs. This includes projects related to recreation, arts and culture, health and wellness, and more.

This year, successful applicants can receive a grant of up to $2,500. This grant is given out to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all funds out of the total $75,000 are distributed, the application window will close for the year.

“The Milton Community Connections Grant aims to advance collaboration and investment in community-led projects and events that make a difference in the lives of Milton residents,” said Steve Palmer, director, Recreation & Culture.

“We hope this program will provide assistance to local organizations and individuals who are planning projects, events and initiatives to make our community a better place.”

The program is funded through the Milton Community Fund, which receives funding from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s Mohawk location for the benefit of the community. Organizations unable to accept funding from the OLG, can contact Town staff for more details, as there are alternate funding sources available.
