Investigators have released video of a shooting that left a young man from Brampton dead at a Toronto business and are asking the public to help find the shooters.

The shooting happened shortly after 12 a.m. on Aug. 27 at a plaza in the area of Sheppard Avenue West and Weston Road area, the Toronto Police Service says.

Dozens of people were in the area when the shots rang out and 21-year-old Arslan Ahmad of Brampton was found shot inside a business, police said in an update on Saturday.

Det. Sergeant Brandon Price called the shooting a “cowardly act.”

First responders attempted life-saving measures on the victim who was rushed to hospital with critical injuries. Ahmad, who was a university student, died in hospital from his injuries almost a week after the shooting, police said.

Now police have released video footage from the night of the killing that shows what’s believed to be a white Toyota Rav4 pull up to the area before two suspects exit the vehicle and head towards a home and disappear from the frame.

Moments later the men reappear and can be seen firing multiple shots towards the home. The two suspects escaped into the getaway vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The video also shows the shooting from a second angle where the suspects are again seen running into the frame and firing several shots before fleeing the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information about the suspects, vehicle or the shooting to contact investigators.

The first suspect is described as having a thin build and was wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes. The second suspect also has a thin build, is slightly taller than the first suspect and was wearing a grey hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes.

Police say the suspect vehicle is believed to be a white, newer model Toyota Rav4 with a black roof, black rims and tinted windows. The vehicle may have a personalized license plate, investigators say.

Investigators are also searching for the vehicle’s driver but no description of the third suspect has been released.
