Police have released a dramatic video showing a driver smashing into a police cruiser in Toronto.
Yesterday (April 16), Toronto Police announced the arrests of a Mississauga man, an Oakville man and a youth from Oshawa who face 54 charges in connection with two armed and violent carjackings last week in Toronto — one of which targeted a $400,000 Lamborghini.
Police later released a video showing how officers had “boxed in” a stolen BMW X5 on April 12.
The driver of the stolen vehicle tried to escape by recklessly smashing into police vehicles, police said.
“Even when boxed in by police vehicles, the driver refused to comply with officers’ demands and again attempted to flee,” investigators said at the press conference held at Toronto Police headquarters yesterday.
The video below shows the driver reversing on a grassy embankment and hitting the police cruiser.
Mehkash Sohal, 21, of Mississauga, is charged with robbery with a firearm, 11 counts of assault with intent to resist arrest, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and numerous firearms and other offences.
Daquon Green, 19, of Oakville, is charged with more than a dozen firearms and other offences.
A 17-year-old boy from Oshawa is facing numerous similar charges.
