Police say they’ve taken a pair of speedsters off the road after getting caught driving over 130 km/h down Brampton streets.

In a release on Friday (March 24), Peel Regional Police said they pulled over a driver at Queen St. and Goreway Dr. in Brampton. Police say the 22-year-old driver was clocked going over 140 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

On the other side of the city, police say another driver, also a 22-year-old, was pulled over at Mississauga Rd. and Williams Pkwy. for going some 130 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.

Police say the vehicles involved in both incidents were impounded for 14 days and the 22-year-old drivers were both hit with 30-day license suspensions.

Peel Regional Police say officers are cracking down on speeders and dangerous driving, and officers are reminding motorists to follow the rules of the road to help keep streets safe.

Just last week police say they took a pair of drivers off the road in Brampton for going some 60 km/h over the limit in an 80 km zone. Police say one of the drivers was clocked going 140 km per hour and a second was stopped going 137 km per hour, and both drivers had their licences suspended and the vehicles were impounded
