Stolen BMW seized in drug bust in Caledon; Brampton and Mississauga residents charged

A BMW was seized and four people were charged in a drug trafficking bust in Caledon.

A drug trafficking investigation, involving multiple regions including Kawartha Lakes, Dufferin, Muskoka, Nottawasaga, Orillia, and Wellington County, started in February 2024, OPP said in a press release.

Police searched five different locations and a vehicle.

Officers seized drugs, $2,345 of Canadian currency, digital scales and cell phones, and a stolen 2018 BMW M2, OPP said.

Drugs seized include approximately 45 grams of fentanyl, 10 grams of cocaine and 1.5 grams of methamphetamine; and 2,304 codeine pills, 177 hydromorphone pills, 60 morphine pills, and 13 diazepam pills.

Four people face charges. The OPP didn’t name the accused.

A 22-year-old from Brampton was charged with three counts of possession of a drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

A 23-year-old from Mono was charged with trafficking fentanyl, and five counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

A 25-year-old from Mississauga was charged with four counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession methamphetamine.

A 31-year-old from Caledon was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

The four people are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.
