Mississauga man charged in assault of Toronto parking enforcement officer.

An Ajax teen is among four charged in a string of carjackings and robberies in Toronto.

Toronto Police report a woman was entering their car near Warden Avenue and Finch Avenue on April 19. The area in northwest Scarborough is home to several apartment buildings and business plazas.

A masked man approached the woman around 7:15. He grabbed the woman’s purse but she fought back. As the struggle continued, he tried to grab her keys and get in the car. However, the woman managed to fight the man off. He dropped the car keys as he fled the scene.

The next, police were called to Sheppard Avenue and Morningside Avenue, about 15 minutes east of the previous seen. The caller reported a masked man with a gun had grabbed a victim from their car.

The man pulled his gun and assaulted the victim, police say, before hopping into the victim’s car. He fled the scene before police arrival.

On April 21, four masked men got out of a stolen car and approached a victim’s car near Midland Avenue and Finch Avenue. The group demanded the man’s keys but he too fought back. The group allegedly struck the man over the back of the head and stole his backpack. They then fled in the car they arrived in.

Investigators later identified a 17-year-old boy from Ajax as a suspect. He’s since been charged with multiple offences including;

  • two counts of robbery with a firearm
  • two counts of robbery
  • four counts of disguise with intent to commit a crime
  • assault causing bodily harm
  • assault
  • possession of property obtained by crime, and
  • eleven counts of fail to comply with a release order

Days later, Toronto Police found one of the stolen cars. They alleged three people were inside including Iyanna Eunick, 18 of Toronto, who was charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

Additionally, two 17-year-old boys were arrested and charged with;

  • robbery
  • disguise with intent
  • assault, and
  • possession of property obtained by crime

A fifth suspect remains at large. However, police have not released a description.
