SHOOTING: Multiple people shot and one killed in Hamilton

One person is dead and multiple people were shot, following an altercation at a party on a rental property near Highway 6 in Hamilton this morning.

Hamilton Police say the incident happened at a “short-term” rental property around 4:30 a.m., near Concession Road 6 East.

Upon arrival, police say they located a man with non-life-threatening injuries who was reportedly shot at the party.

Investigators later learned that two other victims had fled the scene, with one dying shortly after inside a nearby vehicle.

A woman also suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police confirm.

Authorities have not disclosed the identities, ages, or residences of the victims who were shot. Police say, they are actively working to identify the deceased victim and notify their next of kin.

According to officials, sixty people were at the party and police are interviewing witnesses to determine what happened.

Currently, no images of the suspect (s) or vehicle descriptions are available.

As of now, Highway 6 is closed in both directions between Concession 6 East and Concession 7 East, with Halton Regional Police and the OPP assisting in traffic management while investigators collect evidence.
