Plenty of puppies need a fur-ever home in Brampton

Prospective pet owners can have a literal pick of the litter from a pack of puppies looking for new homes in Brampton.

Brampton Animal Services is always in need of adopters, fosters and volunteers to care for the dogs, cats, birds and other furry or feather friends that come through their doors, including a new batch of puppies.

The two-month-old pups are all American Bulldogs and have a menu of food-themed names like Bacon, Beanz, Muffin and Pancake.

There are nine puppies available for foster until they get spayed and neutered, at which point they’ll be ready for adoption after being checked out by a vet.

But if puppies aren’t you’re thing then there are lots of full-grown dogs and cats available to bring home.

Dog adoptions cost $200 plus a pet licence fee and includes vaccinations, sterilization and a free veterinary exam to get your furry friend ready for their new home.

The shelter also has many cats, rabbits, hamsters and mice. Cat adoptions start at $120 while birds and small animal adoption fees start at $5.

If adoption isn’t an option then Brampton Animal Services also accepts donations to the Helping Orphaned Pets in Emergencies (HOPE) Fund.

The fund was started in 2001 to raise money for the rehabilitation of sick and injured animals at the shelter so they can be adopted into loving homes, and Brampton Animal Services says a donation can make a perfect gift for the animal lover on your holiday list this year.

All proceeds from donations help pay for extended medical procedures for animals in Brampton Animal Services’ care with no portion used to cover administration or operational expenses.
