Police have charged a Brampton man with sexual assault after a rideshare driver allegedly exposed himself to a passenger.

The Toronto Police Service say the assault happened on Tuesday when the victim requested a pickup through a rideshare application in Toronto.

Investigators say the driver “exposed his genitals” and sexually assaulted the passenger during the trip. That’s when the victim exited the vehicle and contacted police.

The following day police say a 27-year-old man from Brampton was arrested in connection to the assault, which police said may not have been an isolated incident.

Rajwinder Bhangu, 27, of Brampton has been charged with one count of sexual assault.

The accused was scheduled to make a court appearance on Thursday.

Investigators did not say which rideshare company the accused was driving for but believe there may be more victims and have released an image of the accused.
