More bike racks have been placed in new locations in downtown Burlington.

The racks have been added to give cyclists more places to park during the summer months.

“We’ve installed more bike racks so you can park and lock up your bike while you enjoy the patio,” the City of Burlington notes on its social media channels. “Please do not leave your bike where it might block the sidewalk or sidewalk detours.”

The racks have been placed at the Brant Street entrance of City Hall, John Street north of Lakeshore Road, on the south side of Lakeshore Road east of Brant Street, and the south side of Elgin Street just west of Brant Street.

Burlington is considered a bicycle-friendly city and boasts of 48 km of bike lanes and 31.6 km of paved off-road multi-use paths.
