MAJOR ROAD CLOSURE: Truck breaks down near Highway 401 in Mississauga

UPDATE: Peel Regional Police said all lanes were reopened as of about 2 p.m.
Several lanes of a main road in Mississauga’s north end have been shut down to traffic after a large truck broke down early this afternoon.
Peel Regional Police said in a post to social media that all southbound lanes of Mississauga Road, between Derry Road and Highway 401, are closed after a transport truck broke down near the highway off-ramp.
Police added a heavy-duty tow truck is en route to the scene.
It’s not clear when the lanes will reopen to southbound traffic on the major road. In the meantime, motorists are being told to use alternate routes.
