CLOSURE: Major part of Hwy 25 closed in Milton

UPDATE: Highway 25 is now open in both directions as of 9:22 p.m.

 

A two-vehicle collision has resulted in the closure in both directions of a major highway in Milton late Friday afternoon (July 5).

The collision took place around 5 p.m. on Highway 25, just north of Britannia Road.

Halton Regional Police confirmed that Highway 25, between Britannia Road and Louis St. Laurent Avenue, including the intersection with Whitlock Avenue, is closed in both directions due to a traffic collision investigation.

One eyewitness told halton.insauga.com that the accident appeared to be a head-on collision.

The extent of any injuries is not known at this time.

Police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation, and there is no estimated time for re-opening the roadway.
