Major drug bust leads to 3 arrests in Caledon

Three people are facing charges as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in Caledon.

On Tuesday, June 18, members of OPP’s Caledon Community Street Crime Unit and several other crime units raided seven homes in Caledon and Schomberg.

Police say the following items were located and seized:

  • Powder cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, oxycodone pills, prescription pills, heroin
  • A large amount of Canadian currency
  • Witness P .45 calibre handgun
  • 10 rounds of .45 calibre ammunition
  • 2016 Lincoln MKX
  • Stolen 2014 Honda CRF2 motorcycle

As a result, 37-year-old Ryan Suitor from Schomberg, 38-year-old Matthew Regent from Bolton, 29-year-old Alfredo Gallo from Caledon were arrested.

Suitor is charged with possession of cocaine, oxycodone, methamphetamine, fentanyl and heroin, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000.

Regent is charged with possession of cocaine, assault with intent to resist arrest, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failing to comply with a release order.

Gallo is charged with possession of cocaine and other drugs.

Suitor was held for bail and expected to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice, while Regent and Gallo are scheduled to appear in court on July 4, 2024.

The Caledon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) was assisted by the Nottawasaga CSCU, Collingwood CSCU, Huronia West CSCU, Orillia CSCU, City of Kawartha Lakes CSCU, Southern Georgian Bay CSCU, Barrie Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau OCEB, and uniform officers.
