$100K lottery winner in Mississauga.

Jian Fen Li says she was quite calm upon learning she’d just won $100,000 playing her Lotto Max Encore numbers.

But then a wave of excitement quickly washed over the Mississauga woman as reality set in — the numbers on her ticket matched the last six of seven winning Encore numbers in exact order in the May 31 draw.

“I went to the store where I always pick up my tickets. The store clerk scanned my ticket and the lottery terminal froze; they said I was a big winner,” Li recalled while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her windfall. “I asked, ‘Are you sure?’ I was very calm before the excitement hit me.”

Li, who’s played the lottery for the past three years, says her favourite games are Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, and she always plays Encore as well.

Upon sharing the good news with family and friends, the Mississauga woman said they all had similar reactions.

They all told her they were thrilled for her and that she “deserves it.”

Li said she plans to save her winnings before deciding exactly how to spend the money.

The winning ticket was purchased at Rexall, on Eglinton Avenue in Mississauga.
