July 5 Weather: Another scorcher with afternoon showers on tap for southern Ontario

It’ll be another hot, sticky day with afternoon showers expected later in the afternoon on Friday (July 5) for Mississauga and southern Ontario.

The day will kick off with sunny skies, but the clouds will begin to move in come the afternoon with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm according to the latest weather forecast by Environment Canada.

It will be important to find a way to cool down and keep hydrated early as temperatures are expected to hit 27 C and feel like a steamy 35 C with the humidex during the day.

The UV index will be 9 or very high.

The clouds will stick around through the evening and there will be a 60 percent chance of showers and the risk of a thunderstorm before and after midnight.

Winds will be north at 30 km/h becoming light in the evening. Fog patches will develop overnight with a low of 17 degrees Celsius expected.
