Intersection closed as major crash sends 2 to hospital in Brampton

2 people in hospital following 2 vehicle crash in Brampton

A late afternoon crash in Brampton involving two vehicles sent two people to the hospital.

Peel Regional Police say the collision took place shortly before 5:30 p.m. at a busy intersection near Steeles Ave West and Windmill Boulevard.

Police say the driver of one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and a passenger in the other vehicle was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

Authorities have not released the names, ages, and places of residence of the victims who were injured.

Additionally, officials have not indicated if there were more occupants in either vehicle at the time of the accident.

Several paramedic vehicles, police cruisers and a fire truck arrived at the crash scene.

The cause of the collision is still being investigated.

Currently, westbound moving traffic along Steeles Avenue is closed from McLaughlin Road South to Windmill Boulevard.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes for the time being.

Police have not given an estimated time for when the roadways will reopen to the public.
