Food Truck Eats is another food truck frenzy that is going to invade Mississauga this Victoria Day Monday at Celebration Square’s Marti Gras Pep Rally. Mississauga food lovers can expect to see a few new food trucks at this event while listening to the sounds of New Orleans favourites by the Stooges Brass Band.
Here’s a list of gourmet food trucks that will be rolling into the square:
CORNehCOPIA from MrCorn is Canada’s first and only gourmet food truck specializing in Corn on the Cob. The menu will include the famous Original Corn, Mexican Street Corn (Elote), and the newest flavour, BBQ Cheddar Corn. You have the option of enjoying the corn on the cob or off the cob in a cup.
CORNehCOPIA’s Elote in a cup is a top seller which includes sweet corn on the cob, spiced Mexican mayonnaise, Cojita Cheese and Ancho chili powder.
Localista Food Truck specializes in sourcing local producers (as much as possible) to create international street food. The menu will include the 3 most popular items one of which will be either the Mad Fried Chicken, or the Flank Steak Sandwich.
Localista’s Flank Steak Sandwich includes a marinated flank steak with grilled peppers, zucchini, onions and aged cheddar on a sourdough bun.
Localista’s Mad Fried Chicken served with a kale slaw and a pumpkin biscuit.
Frankie Fettuccine Food Truck Co. is Canada’s first pasta themed food truck. Fresh local ingredients are used in classic and traditional preparations to create the various menu items which include their signature dish – Ossobuco Gnocchi Poutine.
Frankie Fettuccine’s Ossobuco Gnocchi Poutine consists of crisp fried gnocchi pasta, braised veal shank, Quebec cheese curds, and a natural jus garnished with parsley and citrus zest.
Gorilla Cheese is Canada’s first grilled cheese food truck which uses Jensen Cheese from Simcoe, Ontario, custom baked bread from Cake & Loaf in Hamilton, Ontario, and local seasonal ingredients.
Gorilla Cheese’s Lumberjack includes cheddar, bacon, sliced granny smith apples, real maple syrup on white bread.
Luchador Gourmet Streatery serves up Mexican fusion cuisine which can include a mash-up of anything from Mexican and Filipino to Mexican and Indian cuisines while committed to the authentic international flavours.
