Truck fire closes lanes on Highway 403 in Mississauga

A truck fire closed lanes on Highway 403 in Mississauga.
Emergency crews responded to the fire in the westbound lanes of Highway 403 at Winston Churchill Boulevard this morning (May 8), OPP said in a post on X just after 7 a.m.
OPP describes the vehicle as a dump truck but other reports indicate it was a garbage truck.
No one was injured in the fire, police said.
Only one lane was opened as fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.
The clean-up is underway and police expected all lanes to be re-opened within an hour.
Police asked drivers to avoid the area if possible.
