Driver on 4 lifetime bans arrested again in Brampton faces more charges in Toronto

More charges have been laid against a Brampton man found guilty of over 40 driving-related offences who’s been taken off the road multiple times.

On April 11, Peel Regional Police say officers with the Safer Roads Team arrested a suspect wanted on multiple warrants in Toronto.

The 41-year-old Brampton man was wanted for several offences including theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of operation while prohibited.

But investigators say the accused is no stranger to police and has previously been hit with four lifetime driving bans.

With a long rap sheet that includes 35 Criminal Code and 8 Provincial Offence Act convictions, police say the driver has previously been found guilty of multiple counts of assault, impaired operation, dangerous operation, breach of probation and criminal harassment among several other charges,

Peel Regional Police say Nirmal Singh, 41, was arrested on a warrant for one count of theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of operation While Prohibited and six counts of breach of probation.

The accused was then transferred into the custody of the Toronto Police Service pending charges.

Peel police say the Safer Roads Team is actively looking dangerous drivers and repeat offenders.

“We will use all lawful means necessary to stop these irresponsible criminals from putting the safety of our community at risk,” said PRP Dep. Chief Marc Andrews in a statement.
