Downed Hydro pole closes down part of major Mississauga road

A downed Hydro pole at an intersection Tuesday evening (June 25) has resulted in the closure of a main Mississauga roadway.

The downed pole is leaning on electric lines at the intersection of Erin Mills Parkway and Leanne Boulevard and is causing what Peel Regional Police call a “dangerous condition.”

As a result, there are several road closures in the area. The southbound Erin Mills Parkway is closed at Sheridan Park and traffic is being diverted to Lincoln Green Way/Sheridan Park Drive.

Leanne Boulevard is also closed at Erin Mills Parkway, with Fowler Drive at Erin Mills Parkway only.

Those looking to get on the QEW are being directed to take Sheridan Park Drive to Fifth Line West.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. Police and emergency crews remain on the scene.
