Halton Regional Police hope the public can help fill a police cruiser with food.

But before you rush out and pick up a dozen donuts, the good officers point out they are in need of nourishable items for the clients of the Burlington Food Bank.

The event will take place tomorrow, June 29 at Longo’s located at 1225 Fairview Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Food items that are needed include dried pasta and pasta sauce, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal and oatmeal and snacks.

Hygiene and household products are also needed such as shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste, razors, diapers, paper towels, cleansers and dish and laundry soap.

“Your donations will not only provide much-needed items but support the well-being of your neighbours,” said police organizers.
