Looking for quality skate gear? Here’s some of the best skate-style shops in Mississauga.

New in town is Zumiez Skate shop, now with a location inside Square One. Zumiez carries the leading skate brands and even has a pretty good in-house brand called Empyre. You’ll find brands like Nike SB, Diamond Clothing, Vans, DGK, Supra, Volcom, Burton, and much more! One of the only skate shops in Mississauga where you can find good colourways of the Nike SB shoe line. Zumiez carries several colourways of the Stefan Janoski pro model, as well as both the Paul Rodriguez pro model and the Eric Koston pro model. You’ll find a solid selection of decks, trucks, wheels and bearings at the best prices. With Street League going on, you’ll definitely want to swing by and gear up for spring and summer skating.

If you’re looking for the best value, then definitely visit Zumiez. Their prices tend to be slightly lower and they’re always carrying a new line of Nike SB’s that are difficult to find because not many shops carry the Nike SB brand. For a good selection of brands and a friendly staff that will help you decide what to pick up, swing by Zumiez which is located on the top floor of Square One.

Our next pick on the list is West 49. The skate shop has grown into a larger franchise and carries good brands for good prices. At West 49, you’ll find brands like DC, Element, Plan B, Girl, Chocolate, Lakai, DVS, RVCA, Billabong, and the in-house West 49 brand. The West 49 franchise is always carrying good DC pro shoes, including the Mike Mo or Chris Cole model. The sales they put on compliment the season, or specify brands that are selected for earning rewards on the Access Pass. The staff members are very friendly, helpful, and can offer you good advice if you’ve questions related to maintenance for equipment or how to better take care of your shoes. Right now, West 49 is has exclusive Element tees and shoes with a design inspired by the Toronto Blue Jays logo. If you’re interested in checking out what West 49 has to offer, visit their location inside Square One or at the Erin Mills Town Centre.

If you’re stopping by Square One, be sure to check out the next pick on our list, Boathouse. A surfer-style shop with a California-inspired look, Boathouse carries the right brands to pull it off; Quicksilver, Element, DC, Volcom, LRG, Roxy, Billabong, and the Boathouse brand. At Boathouse you’ll find shoe brands like DC, Ipath, Supra, Lakai, Adidas, Nike SB, and Vans. The shoe selection has some funky as well as classic styles to choose from. The shop is a bit on the pricey side, but you’ll still be able to find solid deals on sale items along with a friendly staff to help you find what you’re looking for.

Another good shop for skate-style is Gravity Boardsports on the Lakeshore strip mall. Packed full of skate and snow equipment, boards of all kinds and cool brands to browse, Gravity is sure to have what you’re looking for. Brands they carry include DC, DGK, Diamond, Burton, Circa, Element, Girl, Lakai, Plan B, Red Dragon, and more. Gravity definitely has a great brand selection and lots of gear to check out.
