BBQ and beer on the menu for return of Brampton Ribfest this weekend

Friday is the summer solstice and BBQ lovers can get a kick start to grilling season with the annual Brampton Rib and Beer Fest this weekend.

The annual food and beer festival is back in Brampton for another year of carnivorous creations in Chinguacousy Park starting on Friday and running all weekend long.

Organized by the Northern Heat Rib Series, the food fest promises some of the best ribs and BBQ around and a beer market, which also features wine, whisky and vodka cocktails, and ready-to-drink coolers.

On top of food and drink, the festival will also include backyard BBQ games, a kids’ zone and a Battle of the Ribs cook-off.

Beverages can be purchased with drink tickets and organizers say the beer tent’s hours will differ slightly from those of the festival itself.

Latecomers should be aware that the gates to get into Ribfest will close one hour before closing time each night. Organizers note that the event is pet-friendly, no open beverage containers will be allowed on the grounds, and there will be bag checks upon entry.

Tickets to get in cost $2 for general admission while entry is free for children under five.

Brampton Rib and Beer Fest starts at 4 p.m. on Friday and will run until 11 p.m. The gates open on Saturday at 12 p.m. until 11 p.m. and again on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
