All lanes closed after major vehicle fire breaks out on highway in Mississauga

A fire is causing traffic delays in Mississauga this morning (Feb. 26).
At 11:20 a.m., a vehicle was reported to be on fire on the Highway 401 westbound express lane at Mavis.
The cause of fire and any injuries are currently unknown.
Peel Police and Mississauga Fire also responded to the area after receiving “several reports of black smoke” coming from the area.
All lanes are closed at this time, the Ministry of Transportation says.
Motorists should avoid the area and take alternate routes.

UPDATE: According to OPP, the vehicle in question is a transport truck that was hauling a piece of farm machinery.
The fire is now out and traffic is slowly getting by, police say.
