8-storey condo with cafe and games room in the works for Ajax

A new development that bills itself as “Ajax’s most exciting new community” is taking shape at 253 Lake Driveway W. in the city’s Discovery Bay community.
According to a listing on livabl.com, Lake Pointe at Discovery Bay, developed by Your Home Developments, is in the pre-construction phase and is offering units priced between $598,900 and more than $1.1 million.
Once complete, the building will boast eight storeys and 181 units ranging in size from 480 to close to 1,200 square feet. The building will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites, as well as a variety of amenities.
“Just a stone’s throw from picturesque trails and minutes to the waterfront, Lake Pointe fully connects you to every possible amenity while being so close to nature,” the developer says on its website.
The listing says that as far as amenities go, future residents can expect a cafe, meeting room, lobby washroom, media lounge, coworking lounge, fitness centre, entertainment room, bicycle room, games room, pet spa, lobby lounge, a landscaped exterior courtyard with a pergola, patio areas and community garden boxes and more.

The entertainment room will have a catering kitchen, large dining area and fireplace and the wellness centre will have an area specifically for yoga. The listing also says the media room will have “plush, theatre-style seating.”
Other building and suite features include smartphone access to the building and units, a heated garage ramp, private balconies and terraces, open-concept kitchens with quartz or granite countertops, soaker tubs, stackable washers and dryers and more.
The townhomes that are part of the development will stand at three storeys.
The building is expected to reach completion in 2027.
