30 firefighters battle ‘scrap yard’ blaze north of Brampton

Dozens of firefighters and an excavator were called in to put out multiple trailers on fire at a scrap yard north of Brampton.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a garage fire in the area of Mayfield Road and Coleraine Drive around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, a spokesperson for Peel Regional Paramedics Services told INsauga.com.

Caledon Fire & Emergency Services said there were “multiple trailers on fire” at a “scrap yard” and some 30 firefighters were called to attend.

It took several hours for the fire to fully come under control with firefighters calling in an excavator “to provide access” for crews to extinguish the flames

No injuries were reported in the blaze and crews did not say how many trailers were damaged in the blaze.
