$100,000 Encore win will be shared with Milton man’s family

A Milton man said he’s going to share his newfound riches with his mom and sister.

Trevor Green, who works in construction, matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the May 8 Ontario 49 draw to win $100,000.

Green said he’s a regular Ontario 49 players and always makes sure to add Encore to his tickets, including the free play that brought him his big win.

“I didn’t have my glasses on when I scanned my ticket on my phone, so I thought I had won $100,” he said, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

“When I checked it again at the store, I heard the winning tune and thought, ‘All this for $100?’ It was then I realized I had won it big!”

Trevor plans to invest his winnings and share with his mother and sister.

“When I told my mother, I think she was more energetic than I was. I have no words to describe this feeling. I have just started planning what to do with my win and hope to double it.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Steeles Avenue in Milton.
